There is one beauty problem that plagues many women… dark under-eye circles. Some try to solve it with getting plenty of beauty sleep and others might lean towards products to treat and conceal them, there are hundreds of eye “fixers” out on the market today and now you need to find what’s right for you. What is the secret to making sure all your products appear flawless when you apply them? A clean slate.
1. Make sure to clean well!
At night wash away the day with a milky cleanser (Darphin Intral Cleansing Milk) and then follow up with a gel cleanser (La Roche-Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel) which will remove any oily residue left behind.
2. If your skin is thin and dry, a liquid concealer would work best for you because it will not set into wrinkles (Smashbox High Definition Concealer).
3. If you have very dark under-eye circles and particularly with darker skin types, try a highlighting concealer because this will not only cover darkness but will actually brighten the eye area by reflecting light (YSL Touche Eclat Concealer). Always remember to purchase your concealer one to two shade(s) lighter, the skin around your eyes has different color and texture than the rest of your face. If you have darkness that looks bruised then using a yellow based concealer will cancel a lot of blue or purple from your eye. Redness and pink can be toned down with a green based concealer (Physicians Formula Correcting Concealer).
4. If you have oily skin you should be using a stick concealer or one with more of a “paste” consistency (MAC Studio Finish Concealer), as it will fully cover and will not require touch ups throughout the day.
Remember to always apply your foundation or tinted moisturizer over the concealer, this allows you to make sure the concealer stays precisely where you place it!
